MOSI Art Guild Exhibits at Truman
Truman State University and the MOSI Art Guild have joined together to put on an exhibition of MOSI members’ artwork at the Pickler Memorial Library coffee shop from September 23 through December 15, 2014.
A reception honoring the artists displaying their work will be held October 2, 2014, at 5:30 p.m. in the Pickler Memorial Library. Visitors to the display will be given the opportunity to vote on their favorite piece of artwork from September 23 to October 2 until 3 p.m. The winning piece will be awarded a Viewer’s Choice award at the reception. We want to get the word out to the Kirksville Arts Association members and MOSI members.

Notes from Reception – MOSI at Pickler Memorial Library
On Thursday October 2, there was a reception celebrating the agreement between Truman’s Pickler Memorial Library and MOSI Art Guild to exhibit the MOSI member art in Jazzman’s Cafe and Bakery in the library, for students and others to enjoy.
In the study areas of the cafe there are many lovely walls to hang the artwork. Students will be surrounded by a variety of media and technique, for their enrichment and pleasure.
Colleen Wagner explains the awards she is about to give to the artists. There was a secret ballot available for the viewers to vote on their favorite, during the week before the reception.
She thanks the library dean, Richard Coughlin, for this great opportunity, and he in turn tells us what a great fit it is for his library and cafe to have this art exhibiting and benefiting those who view it.
The folks and attending artists, stand by to listen to the compliments and perhaps receive an award.
One Viewer’s Choice award was a large digital landscape of wheat by John McMurry.
Another Viewer’s Choice award is given to Amber Corbett for her fiber art.
